WORLD AI
Venture Capital
Cambridge, U.K., May 2025 – World AI Venture Capital is proud to lead a $3 million Series A round in Phosphor AI, an edtech innovator building the world’s most adaptive, inclusive learning platform. Founded in 2023 and based in Cambridge, Phosphor AI is on a mission to revolutionize how students and educators engage with rigorous academic curricula—International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), Cambridge A-Level—and deliver tailored experiences for neurodivergent and special-needs learners.
Overview
Phosphor AI’s intelligent platform blends AI-adaptive learning pathways with natural language understanding to support differentiated instruction for students at all levels. Its unique AI engine personalizes the learning journey—helping high-performing students in rigorous academic tracks like International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, and Cambridge A-Level programs, while also tailoring content and pacing for neurodivergent and special needs learners.
Phosphor AI addresses a global edtech market that now exceeds $35 billion. Demand for differentiated instruction is accelerating among the ten million students enrolled in rigorous academic programs, while more than 20 million learners with mild-to-moderate neurodivergence require customized pacing, content scaffolding and real-time feedback. As schools worldwide allocate a growing share of their budgets to digital solutions, Phosphor AI stands at the intersection of advanced coursework and inclusive education—a rare dual-market opportunity.
Phosphor supports educators with real-time analytics, auto-generated assessments, and curriculum-aligned content suggestions, ensuring every student receives the guidance they need, when they need it.
Recent Milestone
In March 2024, Phosphor AI closed a $3 million funding round led by World AI Venture Capital, marking a significant step forward in its mission to reshape global education. This follows its earlier $2.7 million seed round in August 2023 from Cambridge Innovation Capital. With this new funding, Phosphor will scale its AI infrastructure, expand multi-language and subject support, and deepen partnerships with international schools and education systems.
Since launching its beta program, Phosphor AI has completed pilot deployments in a dozen international schools across Europe and Asia, supporting more than 4,500 students. Educators report a 95 percent satisfaction rate, citing reduced grading time and meaningful gains in student outcomes.
"With Phosphor AI, we see a platform that unites academic rigor with compassionate support,” said Alex Chan, General Partner at World AI Venture Capital. “The team’s deep subject-matter expertise and scalable AI architecture position them to shape the next generation of global education.”
Strategic Vision
Proceeds from the financing will expand Phosphor’s computing infrastructure to serve more than 50,000 concurrent users, accelerate development of STEM modules for AP and A-Level courses, roll out mobile learning applications, and deepen partnerships in North America, the Middle East and Latin America. The company will also grow its engineering and education-research teams in Cambridge and New York.
Phosphor’s mission is to create an equitable learning environment where every student, regardless of ability or curriculum, can thrive through intelligent support. As AI reshapes the future of learning, Phosphor is pioneering a smarter, more compassionate model of education—one that honors both academic excellence and diverse learning needs.
Investor Confidence
With a passionate team of educators, engineers, and psychologists, Phosphor AI is poised to become a cornerstone of the next wave of edtech. At World AI Venture Capital, we believe Phosphor represents a bold step toward AI-driven inclusive education, and we’re proud to support their vision.
We’re excited to be part of Phosphor AI’s journey and look forward to the positive global impact their platform will bring to students, schools, and educators.
